Vault Health delivers workforce compliance and screening solutions for industries where trust, safety, and reliability are non-negotiable. I partnered with Vault as lead designer to guide a strategic brand repositioning as the company transitioned from consumer health services to supporting high-stakes sectors including aviation, energy, utilities, education, and government.

The Vision

Reposition Vault as a clear, high-impact brand that communicates trust, credibility, and the critical importance of workforce screening in high-risk environments.

A New Identity for a Higher-Stakes Mission

As Vault expanded into workforce compliance, its existing brand no longer reflected the seriousness or scale of its work. The company was entering environments where decisions carry real consequences.

The goal was not novelty, but alignment. Vault needed to move from a consumer-oriented health brand to a trusted partner operating across safety-critical industries. Working closely with Vault’s executive team, we established a foundation that could support this shift while remaining flexible enough to grow.

Positioning for Trust and Credibility

To support the repositioning, I led a focused review of competitive and adjacent brands across workforce compliance and regulated industries.

While many competitors demonstrated visual polish, most lacked narrative clarity. Abstract visuals often functioned as decoration rather than meaningful expression tied to domain context.

This gap presented an opportunity to differentiate through a visual language grounded in purpose and real-world relevance.

A Visual Language Rooted in the Real World

The new identity was built around forms, structures, and visual rhythms drawn from the industries Vault serves.

Building the Brand Foundation

Brand Foundation Elements

Alongside the visual system, the team explored typography, color, and supporting brand elements to build a cohesive foundation.

Type selections prioritized clarity and strength, while the color system balanced contrast and restraint across digital and operational contexts.

Together, these elements formed a unified identity capable of carrying Vault’s expanded mission.

A System Designed to Scale

The identity was applied across Vault’s website and core brand touchpoints, reinforcing a consistent message of trust and reliability.

Designed as a system rather than a static rebrand, it allows Vault to extend the identity as the company grows across industries and use cases.
